Bridge over the Tripontius
Today the “bridge” area is very different indeed from the late nineteenth century. Originally built in wood, after the disastrous flood of 1897 it was rebuilt in two-bay masonry, and at the end of the ‘50 years, the stream was partially covered with a tomb on which Viale Montessori stands today. In the ‘70s, the current condominium, now home to a banking institution, was built on the site of Villa Cavallini.
